Middlemarch Environmental provides client focused, cost effective advice and expertise on all ecological and arboricultural issues that occur during the planning and development process. The company was set up in 1989 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, which is itself part of The Wildlife Trusts, the largest voluntary organisation in the UK concerned with all aspects of nature conservation and the environment. Due to our continuing development, the position of Arboricultural Consultant is available to a suitable candidate. The position provides an opportunity to be a part of an expanding team of consultants who provide advice to a wide variety of clients in all aspects of arboriculture. Reporting to our Principal Arboricultural Consultant the successful candidate will primarily undertake Arboricultural surveys, Impact Assessments and Method Statements in accordance with BS5837:Trees in Relation to Design Demolition and Construction – Recommendations. Further consultation work will include Woodland Management, Veteran Tree Assessment, Tree Hazard Assessment, Decay Detection and Mortgage Report Writing.
Preferred SkillsSkills and Experience Required
Ideally you will have:
• A NQF Level 3 or higher qualification in arboriculture or equivalent;
• Experience of undertaking tree hazard surveys and surveys in accordance with BS5837:2012;
• Experience of technical report writing including Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements;
• A good level of written English;
• The ability to provide detailed, concise and professional advice to clients (verbally and in report form) to required deadlines;
• Computer literacy with experience of Word and Excel;
• A full UK driving licence as use of a company vehicle will be provided for surveying.
Knowledge of GIS/CAD systems would be advantageous but training will be provided.
